2021 Jeep Gladiator vs. 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2

2021 Jeep Gladiator vs. 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2

The 2021 Jeep Gladiator offers the formidable capability to tackle tough jobs and off-road prowess that will win the hearts of adventurous drivers, and we couldn't be prouder to feature it among our new inventory. The latest Gladiator also boasts Jeep's iconic exterior design and a practical interior to go with its impressive brawn, and we thought it only natural to compare this truck to a new rival in the 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2. Consumers based in our home of Ajax and Pickering, Whitby, or Oshawa, Ontario can find out more in our 2021 Jeep Gladiator comparison below before visiting us at Village Chrysler to meet it first hand.

2021 Jeep Gladiator Interior - Amazing Design

Jeep Gladiator vs. Chevy Colorado ZR2: Interior

Like most models in the Jeep lineup, you can personalize the 2021 Gladiator's interior to your liking, whether you prefer a rugged or more refined cabin. Various cloth and leather upholstery options are available throughout the Gladiator lineup, and whatever trim you choose, your rear passengers will enjoy every ride with ample legroom, while various storage solutions accommodate your every journey. A leather-wrapped steering wheel offers optimal comfort, as does lumbar support included in every Gladiator's driver's seat. As for the 2022 ZR2, this Chevy Colorado model's interior is roomy and offers comfortable seating, but like every trim in this truck's lineup, its cabin is sorely lacking in quality materials.

2021 Gladiator vs. 2022 Colorado ZR2: Exterior

On the outside, the new Gladiator combines everything you love about Jeep designs with all the practicality of a classic pickup. In addition to the beloved, boxy cab you'd expect of a Jeep, this 2021 truck boasts several sleek aluminum wheel designs, Jeep's patented seven-slot grille, and a three-position flatbed allowing you to haul all kinds of cargo. The 2021 Gladiator also carries on the Jeep tradition with removable doors, a folding windshield, and a removable hardtop for those who love open-air driving while venturing off the beaten path. Furthermore, the latest Gladiator truck offers available LED lighting ensuring that you'll see and be seen, no matter where the wheels take you.

The 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2, on the other hand, sets itself apart from other Colorado trims with a muscular hood, stylish bodywork, and refined aluminum wheels. But while the ZR2 is bold and rugged in its own right, it can't be personalized or stripped of its doors and roof for outdoor adventures like the 2021 Gladiator.

2021 Jeep Gladiator vs. 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2: Performance & Capability

The Jeep Gladiator offers two robust engine options: a 3.6-litre V6 engine with 285 horsepower and a 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 with 260 horsepower and a whopping 442 lb-ft of torque. The Gladiator can be had with a six-speed manual transmission or a smooth and responsive eight-speed automatic gearbox. In addition to its surefooted ride, 4x4 and first-rate off-road capability, the 2021 Gladiator offers excellent towing capacity, no matter which of its various trims you choose. Indeed, this Jeep pickup can tow up to 4,500 pounds with the base engine, 6,500 with the EcoDiesel motor, and up to a solid 7,650 pounds when you opt for the Gladiator's upper trims with the automatic transmission. As for its payload, the Gladiator can take on another 1,600 pounds in its configurable flatbed.

The 2022 Colorado ZR2's V6 engine packs plenty of pep and an eight-speed gearbox of its own, as well as an off-road package with a wider and taller stance, suspension dampers, and off-road front fascia. That said, the ZR2 isn't quite as capable off the pavement as the Gladiator's popular Rubicon and Mojave trims, and its 7,000-pound towing capacity trails theirs and other Gladiator models' by over 600 pounds.
